Of course there are also many health and safety requirements to be familiar with. The great thing is everyone has to start somewhere, and lots of people learn one thing in depth and become an authority on that subject alone.
You could choose weight issues and diet. All food contains nutrients of some sort - study nutrition to learn about which foods do what for us and why. You could consider specialising in the personal training market. If you're good at communicating and leading others, this could be the area for you. To confidently assess and train a client, you need to understand the composition and make-up of the body. Therefore you should look for training that includes physiology.
If you already work out in your local gym on a regular basis, you might like to consider gym training as a profession. Search for training programmes that have a lot of practical content, backed up by in-depth theory classes. Every client will need to be assessed before a programme can be created for them, so you will need to learn how and why to adapt routines for specific needs. Plus of course you'll need to learn teaching and communication skills, how to build exercise programmes for strength and endurance, and all about machinery and weights.
Possible Extra Add-On's...
A possible supplement to your fitness training skills could be a practical knowledge of how to treat injuries. Some fitness experts extend their offering by getting into things like sports massage, yoga, pilates etc.
